To Whom It May Concern:
My husband and I are the former owners of Whispering Pines Feline Refuge. A sanctuary for cats that we founded and
operated for many years. We paid out-of-pocket one-hundred percent of all expenses for every cat that came into our
care.  We were forced to shut down when the state of Michigan revoked the veterinarian license of Dr. Donna Simons.

We had been taking our cats to Dr. Donna Simons for at least 12 years. She has operated on many of them through
the years and there had never been a problem. Not once did any of the cats she operated on suffer any form of post
surgical infection which would have been seen in an “un-clean operating environment.” I have never seen any type of
non-medical tape used to close or cover an incision.

The facility has always been clean and I have never seen anything 'inappropriate'. She has been a wonderful vet to
our cats & I don't know what we'll do without her. There is no other vet (that I know of) in the area that cares for animals
because they love them. Most veterinarians are in the business to make money. Dr. Simons never seemed concerned
about money. This is a tragic loss to the animals and the community. I know there are hundreds of people who feel the
same way about Dr. Simons that we do. What has been done to her is a travesty and most likely an act of malice.

It is my intention to do anything within my power and financial means to assist Dr. Donna Simons to regain her license
to practice veterinarian medicine.

Dr. Simons is desperately needed in this area as most people can not pay for medical care for their animals. Without
Dr. Simons hundreds of animals will be left untreated and will eventually die from things that could be treated if we had
a veterinarian that low-income people could afford.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:
We had been taking our cats to Dr. Donna Simons for several years. She
Provided them with excellent care. Our cats lived to be well into their twenties due to Dr. Simons’ expert medical care.

I never saw any of the conditions I read about in the complaint against Dr. Donna Simons and found the complaints a
bit suspicious.

The facility has always been clean; a few times one of our cats lost control of his bowels due to anxiety and well, we
know how bad that can smell! But trust me; this was no fault of Dr. Simons! It’s kind of sad to think if an ill animal
suffers an accident your veterinarian can be shut down!

There isn’t another veterinarian in Michigan that I know of, who will take care of animals for a reduced fee or no fee at
all if a person can’t pay. I remember when the Antrim County Animal Control found a bear cub who had been hit by a
car on hwy. M-88 near Belliaire, Michigan. They took this bear cub to a veterinarian in Bellaire and he refused to treat
the bear because there was no one who would pay him for the care. Antrim County Animal Control then rushed the
bear another 12 miles to Dr. Donna Simons who was more then willing to treat the bear without any compensation.
Despite her efforts the bear arrived at her clinic too late and passed away. This beautiful bear cub died because of
the loss of time getting treatment! If the first veterinarian had cared at all the bear would still be alive today. You can
easily check this information by calling Antrim County Animal Control.

You have taken away the ONLY person in our area that not only cared for every animal she came across but actually
loved every one of them. Dr. Simons is an amazing human being!
